The ADHD Printables I Actually Use (And Why I Made My Own)
From one ADHDer to another, let's make our lives better.
I was diagnosed with ADHD at 45. Looking back, ordinary planners were never going to suit me. They were built for a brain that works in straight lines, and mine works more like weather. Some days are bright and clear. Some days a storm rolls in before I have even had my first cup of tea.
So I started making my own pages. Simple ones, printed at home, that I could pick up on any day without feeling behind. These are the ADHD printables that stuck, and the reasons I think they stuck for me.
Why so many planners did not work for my brain
The dated planner was my nemesis. Miss three days and there they sit, three blank pages staring back. That blankness made me feel like I had failed, even though nobody else ever saw it, and it made the book harder to open again.
The other trap was the giant to do list. On a good day I could write twenty jobs and tick off twelve. On a storm day, twenty jobs just made the noise in my head louder, and I would do none of them.
What I needed were pages with no dates, a lot of white space, and a starting point small enough that I could not talk myself out of it.
The Storm Day Daily Planner
This is the page I reach for most. It starts with ONE thing. Not a list of twenty, just the one thing that would make today feel like it counted. If there is room, I add a top three. Then there is a brain dump box for everything rattling around, some loose time blocks, and a done list so I can see what actually happened.
The done list is my favourite part. On the days that go sideways, it shows me I still did something. You can see the full page on the Storm Day Daily Planner page.
The Weekly Reset Planner
Life admin used to pile up in our house until it buried me. Bills, forms, phone calls I kept putting off. The Weekly Reset is how I finally got on top of it. It has a page for what must happen this week, what would be nice if it happens, and what I am letting go of. That last bit took me years to learn.
There are no dates on it, so if I miss a week, nothing is wasted. I just start again on whatever day I am ready. I wrote more about that in my post on the ADHD weekly reset, and the planner itself lives on the Weekly Reset Planner page.
Morning and evening routine cards on the fridge
For a long time my mornings were a series of tiny decisions, and every decision was a chance to get distracted. Two cards on the fridge took a lot of that thinking away for me.
I keep the filled in versions up, and there are blank ones in the pack too, because my steps will never be the same as anyone else's. They are on the Morning and Evening Routine Cards page.
Printing at home in the UK
Everything I make is a digital download, sized for A4, with a US Letter version too. Having the pages somewhere I walk past every day matters far more to me than having them somewhere neat.
They work on a tablet as well. The point for me was always to get things out of my head and onto something I could see.
If you want them all in one go
When I put everything together, it became the Mega Bundle. It has the daily and weekly planners, my family guide and conversation cards, my journal and my workbook, all in one download, plus the free What I Wish My Family Knew guide. The Christmas planner is sold on its own.
A last word from one ADHDer to another
None of these pages fixed me, because I was never broken. They just gave the storm somewhere to land. If a page does not work for you, that is not you failing. It is just the wrong page for your weather, and that is fine.
